Scientific and technical cooperation with foreign organisation
During 2024, the researchers of NTU “KhPI” conducted active scientific and scientific-technical cooperation under direct contracts with 147 educational institutions and companies from 39 countries.
Traditionally maintaining long-term inter-university relations, NTU “KPI” is increasingly involved in international projects funded by foreign funds and programmes. The aim of this work is to integrate into the global economic system, attract foreign investment in the Ukrainian education sector, obtain grants for research and teaching, mobility of students and postgraduates, improve the quality of education and organisation of the educational process.
Thus, in 2024, NTU “KhPI participated in 49 international projects, including 43 educational and 6 research projects, including: STCU project “New materials with increased heat resistance based on multicomponent (high-entropy) alloys with adjustable nanocluster structure” (Department of Materials Science, Head of the Department Prof. Sobol O.V. ); NATO Project “Protection of “soft” targets” (Department of Labour Protection and Environment, Head of the Department Prof. Berezutskyi V.V.); NATO Project “Selective quantum sensor for detection in gases and liquid media” (Department of Physical Chemistry, Head of the Department Prof. Sakhnenko M.D.); NATO Project “New technologies for the protection of “soft” targets” (Department of Physical Chemistry, Head of the Department Prof. Sakhnenko M.D.). ); DAAD Project “New advanced methods of designing functional anisotropic vibroacoustic metamaterials” (Department of Dynamics and Strength of Machines, Head of the Department, prof. Lviv G.I.); Belarusian-Ukrainian project “Development of methods for the synthesis and study of radio-transparent ceramic structures of materials based on aluminosilicate systems” (Department of Technology of Ceramics, Refractories, Glass and Enamels, prof. Lisachuk G.I.); Turkish-Ukrainian project “Conducting research and joint publication of results in the priority areas of modern materials science” (Department of Materials Science, Head of the Department, Professor Sobol O.V.)
Close scientific ties between university departments and foreign institutions allow for effective joint research. Thus, the main areas of international scientific and scientific and technical cooperation of the departments of NTU “KhPI” in 2024 were the following areas energy conservation, industrial and medical electronics, nanotechnology, physical materials science for electronics and solar energy, turbine engineering, internal combustion engines, physics of metals and semiconductors, dynamics and strength of machines, materials science, bionanotechnology, software engineering and management information technology, information systems, electric drive, composite materials, ceramics, refractories, glass and enamels, inorganic chemistry, fat synthesis, bonded nitrogen technology, heat and mass transfer, and applied mathematics.
In 2024, 105 researchers, teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate students were sent abroad for research and internships, to participate in conferences, study and language courses. During the same period, the university received 27 foreign specialists as part of 8 delegations from 9 countries.
During 2024, more than 20 international scientific and technical conferences, international forums, presentations and exhibitions were held at the university (most of the conferences were held online).
According to the British consulting company Quacquarelli Symonds, NTU “KhPI” ranks 651-700 among the best higher education institutions in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2024. This is the third place among all higher education institutions in Ukraine and the first among its technical universities.
