KhPI is a leader in educational innovation

The National Technical University ‘KhPI’ once again received the honorary title of ‘Leader of Innovations in Education’, a gold medal, diplomas and certificates at the 16th International Exhibition ‘Innovation in Modern Education’. The paper devoted to the quality of higher education as an object of public administration: rationale and features of actualisation was awarded. Its authors are employees of the Department of Quality Assurance of Educational Activities and the Department of Sociology and Public Administration of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute. The jury also gave the highest marks to the strategy for creating and ensuring the sustainable development of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Innovation Ecosystem. The work was created as part of the harmonisation of NTU ‘KhPI’ activities with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The event brought together almost 300 participants from Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Hungary and Estonia. A total of 272 works were submitted to the competitions of the exhibition held in Kyiv.

The 16th International Exhibition ‘Innovation in Modern Education’ became a venue for educators and scientists to discuss important issues and prospects for innovative development of the education sector, to find effective solutions for the future development of independent Ukraine. Vasyl Kremen, President of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, and Yevhen Bazhenkov, Director of the State Scientific Institution ‘Institute for Modernisation of Education Content’, greeted the participants, organisers and guests of the event.

As a result of the event, the scientists of the National Technical University ‘Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute’ were presented with a number of awards, diplomas and certificates. Thus, the honorary title ‘Leader of Innovations in Education’ was awarded for the work ‘Quality of Higher Education as an Object of Public Administration: Rationale and Features of Actualisation’. It was prepared by the staff of the Department of Educational Quality Assurance and the Department of Sociology and Public Administration. NTU ‘KhPI’ also received a gold medal in the nomination ‘Management of innovative activities of an educational institution for the professional training of competitive specialists’. The paper ‘Strategy for Creating and Ensuring Sustainable Development of the University’s Innovation Ecosystem’ was submitted to this competition. It was developed as part of the harmonisation of NTU ‘KhPI’ activities with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN), in particular, SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

In the end, 272 works were submitted to the competitions, and their quality was expertly assessed by scientists and specialists from the scientific institutions of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and the State Scientific Institution ‘Institute for Modernisation of Education Content’. The event brought together 276 participating organisations from eighteen regions of Ukraine and foreign countries: Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Hungary, and Estonia.
The exhibition was accompanied by an informative thematic programme, which included fifty-eight online events with the participation of managers, leading experts and scientists from the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute for Modernisation of Education Content, practitioners in the field of education, as well as students, pupils, parents and the general public. Over 4000 people took part in the online meetings. The conferences, seminars, and roundtables discussed issues related to the specifics of developing students’ competencies, professional orientation and career development, and the implementation of partnership pedagogy in the New Ukrainian School (NUS). They also discussed the introduction of STEM lessons in educational institutions as one of the key tools of education for sustainable development, innovative approaches to preserving and strengthening physical and mental health as a need of the day. The participants of the events were interested in the problems of using artificial intelligence services to improve the quality of education, as well as the professional growth of teachers; introduction of innovative technologies for the formation of national and civic identity of students, digital systems and applications to increase physical activity, dual form of education as an effective mechanism for improving the quality of training; formation of cross-curricular competencies through the use of modern teaching aids and equipment in the context of the
The organising committee of the exhibition expressed its sincere gratitude to all its participants for their productive work, interesting discussions, professional atmosphere, their own high need and interest in successfully solving educational problems in the face of severe trials and civilisational challenges, for their sincere desire for significant changes aimed at integrating Ukrainian education into the European space.
