Student’s victory in the All-Ukrainian competition of scientific works for students ‘Applied Mathematics’

On May 30, 2025, the final conference of the second stage of the All-Ukrainian competition of scientific works for students ‘Applied Mathematics’ was held at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University.

At the meeting of the section ‘Mathematical modelling in statistics and economics’, Artem Kovalskyi, a student of our university (group E-423b of the Institute of EEE), presented the results of his research work on the topic ‘Modelling sigmoidal dependencies of increased adaptive flexibility’. His work, carried out at the Department of Higher Mathematics under the supervision of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor H.Y. Tuluchenko, was highly appreciated by the jury and recognised as the best.
Based on the results of the defence, the work was awarded a first degree diploma.

It is worth noting that in the academic year 2024/2025, the second round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers, according to the letters of the SSI ‘Institute for the Modernisation of Education Content’ (№21/08-1610 of 02.10.2024) and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (№3/6722-24 of 27.09.2024), was not held due to martial law in the country. However, using their autonomy, higher education institutions can initiate student intellectual competitions at the international and national levels. It was this opportunity that Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University took advantage of by organising the All-Ukrainian competition of scientific works for students ‘Applied Mathematics’.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University for the incredible initiative and excellent organisation of the All-Ukrainian Student Research Competition ‘Applied Mathematics’. It is especially valuable that this event took place at such a difficult time for the country. Holding such intellectual competitions not only supports the scientific potential of students, but also demonstrates the indomitable spirit and desire to develop Ukrainian science.

We are proud of Artem’s achievements and wish him further scientific achievements!
