The National Technical University ‘Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute’ is implementing its own developments.
As a result of the implementation of project 2021.01/0316 ‘Development of composite materials for road construction based on multi-tonne waste’ (grant support from the National Research Fund of Ukraine), a technology has been created for the production of paving slabs with high performance properties, making maximum use of waste from the energy industry.

A laboratory batch of paving slabs was manufactured at our university and used to construct a pedestrian crossing on the campus of the National Technical University ‘Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute’.
After six months of active use, there are no external changes to the slabs, so their use continues successfully.
The authors of the project note that the implementation of the developed resource- and energy-saving technology will allow:
🔹significantly improve the ecological situation in Ukraine;
🔹significantly improve the balance of export and import operations with mineral raw materials in Ukraine;
🔹reduce the use of valuable natural resources, as well as the costs of searching for new natural deposits;
🔹reduce the costs of industrial waste disposal and prevent environmental pollution;
🔹improve the social situation at enterprises and in regions as a result of the creation of new jobs.
