Seminar of the international programme ‘HORIZON Europe’

On 23 September 2024, NTU ‘KhPI’ hosted a seminar on ‘Existing opportunities and rules for joint participation of HEIs, SMEs and industrial enterprises in the Horizon Europe Programme’.

The event was held in a hybrid format, which allowed participants to engage both online and live in Kharkiv. The programme was aimed at intensifying cooperation between business, science and education, as well as international activities within the framework of the largest European innovation funding programme.

During his welcoming remarks, Andrii Marchenko, Vice-Rector for Research at NTU ‘KPI’, stressed the importance of active participation of Ukrainian scientists in international projects. The vice-rector spoke about the unique achievements of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute, including the study of the lithium nucleus and the creation of a quadcopter by Polytechnic graduates, which lays the foundation for the further development of science.

Vice-Rector for International Relations Hennadii Khrypunov shared his experience of participating in Erasmus+ programmes, which intensify the university’s international relations.

Ruslan Kryvobok, Head of the Research Department of NTU ‘KPI’, stressed the importance of international funding for the development of science at the university. According to him, in 2024, KhPI received grant funding in the amount of UAH 80 million from international organisations, which allowed the university to upgrade its facilities and ensure world-class research. But this is only the beginning – applications for UAH 100 million have already been submitted for 2025, and it is expected that these funds will help attract even more scientists to innovative projects.

Business representatives have also shown interest in cooperation. In particular, M. Novikov from PJSC ‘Turbogaz’ confirmed his readiness to invest in joint projects with Polytechnic, which opens up new prospects for the development of innovations in Ukraine.

Thanks to this support, the university will not only continue to successfully implement current projects, but also develop new, innovative solutions that will become the foundation for scientific achievements in the coming years.
