The Science and Technology and Training Centre of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” was established on the basis of the reorganised Engineering Centre of the Kharkiv State Pedagogical University in 2001. The main objectives of the Centre are:
- Carrying out research, design, development and organisation of implementation of the results of these works in the industrial production of the regions of Ukraine and abroad;
- Developing and organising the introduction of new technologies, know-how inventions, preparing production, developing and transferring technologies and scientific and technological documentation to the customer’s enterprises and organisations;
- Provision of additional practical services to the customer related to the implementation of developments in production, as well as joint work on their implementation;
- Provision of industrial training for students of the University and other educational institutions in order to acquire professional, scientific and practical skills in the chosen profession, as well as to obtain working professions in accordance with the curricula;
- Organisation and provision of laboratory work, as well as strengthening of the educational and laboratory facilities;
- Addressing issues related to improving production efficiency and resource and energy conservation, as well as environmental safety;
- Contractual work on rendering services to enterprises, organisations and institutions.
- Improving the efficiency of utilisation and recycling of polymer waste;
- Prospects for the use of recycled materials in polymer compositions for modern building materials;
- Development and implementation of ecological technologies for the use of elastomeric regenerates of butyl rubber and pyrocarbon waste from the pyrolysis of car tyres in the production of polymer and rubber compositions and products that create a large technogenic load on the environment;
- Improving the technological features of the assembly of non-standard structures using bent and complex elements.
