RESEARCH WORK OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS AND STUDENTS

     

The research and innovation work of students is a chance for proactive young people to get opportunities for their development and help Ukraine on its way to prosperity. The University has established a system of involving students in research and innovation activities, which opens up new horizons for academic growth and professional development.

All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers: 2023-2024 academic year – 319 students won the first round; 2022-2023 academic year – 266 students won the first round; 2021-2022 academic year – 188 students won the first round; 2020-2021 academic year – 52 students won the second round; 2019-2020 academic year – 69 students won the second round.

Kharkiv Regional Competition of Student Research Papers in Natural, Technical and Humanities Sciences was held in May-June 2023. The winners of the competition were 5 students of our university, who received diplomas of the II and III degrees. NTU “KhPI” is ranked first among Kharkiv universities in the field of Technical Sciences. In 2021 there were 6 winners, in 2020 there were 6 students of the winners, in 2019 there were 7 winners of students of our university.

With the support of the Chernovetskyi Investment Group (CIG), the university selects startups for the CIG R&D LAB educational and scholarship programme. In total, more than 150 startup projects took part in the pitches held from 2019 to 2024. The winners of innovative projects receive a grant for further development and qualified support for the development of their projects.

Students of our university participate in international competitions of student research papers. During the period 2019-2024, 47 students of our university became winners of various international competitions. Some of these competitions are: International Student Professional Creative Competition “Agrarian Sciences and Food-2023” – 3 winners; International Student Research Paper Competition “Black Sea Science” – 7 winners; 20 winners in the International Student Research Paper Competition (Kremenchuk); NTU “KhPI” startup Prominchik won the bronze medal in the Lviv Startup Fest student project competition; took the first team place among higher education institutions in the final of the International Student Olympiad in the field of information technology “IT-Universe-2023; in the global hackathon IEEExtreme, received 2nd place in the world in general engineering programming IEEExtreme16. 0; participation and victory in the All-Ukrainian Case Championship organised by USAID; NTU “KPI” became the organiser of the first international cross-university IT case championship “Business Innovation Challenge” (BIC1.0), according to the results of BIC1.0, all three prizes were won mainly by KPI students; our students took first place in the project “Games of Factories Battle of Universities” from UGEN.

Students of Kharkiv Polytechnic regularly take part in the Erasmus+ International Academic Mobility Project of the European Union.

The scholarship of the President of Ukraine is awarded to 4 students, the scholarship of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine – to 4 students, the Regional Personal Scholarship named after O.S. Maselsky – to 3 students.

NTU “KhPI” hosts 15 student conferences and seminars of international, national and regional level.

Young scientists.

The Council of Young Scientists of NTU “KhPI” holds an annual International Scientific and Practical Conference of Master’s and PhD students “Theoretical and Practical Research of Young Scientists”. The conference is held in 7 sections. Every year, it is attended by more than 100 participants from various educational institutions of Ukraine and abroad.

With the support of the Rector, 30 young scientists are trained in English every year, followed by an exam to test their knowledge.

The Council of Young Scientists of NTU “KhPI” holds the competition “The Best Young Scientist of NTU “KhPI”, the competition is held in 7 sections. During this time, young scientists have received awards, certificates and other incentives of a material and non-material nature.

Young scientists have won competitions for funding for scientific research on state budgetary topics and the National Research Foundation.

In 2023, young scientists launched a grantwriting school, which trains postgraduate students and employees of NTU “KhPI” in grant writing.

Representatives of the RMI received awards from the President of Ukraine for young scientists – 6 scientists, awards from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for young scientists – 6 scientists, scholarships from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for young scientists – 5 scientists and scholarships from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for young scientists with doctoral degrees – 3 scientists, there is a winner of the nominal scholarship of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for young scientists with doctoral degrees for 2021.
